Morelli and Bertoli had terrific games in attack and found their best serves to help Spoleto clinch a five-set battle against Grottazzolina. Just like last season in the B1 division, this fixture produced a never-ending uncertain-till-the-end match-up. In the tie-break, a Morelli spike and block on Vecchi got Spoleto a 4-2 lead. Bertoli kept hitting the serve hard and with an ace and a half he got his team 7-3 up. The former Mondovì star continued to cause chaos in the opposite dig though it was Bargi who gave spoleto four match points. The hosts needed three to seal it after a time out, on a superb spike from Morelli.
