Monza officially announced the signing of Marcello Forni. Given that Andrea Sala had to renounce because of family matters, the club opted for the experienced middle blocker to make it a trio of quality players with Thomas Beretta and Pieter Verhees. This will be Forni’s 14th season in the elite of Italian Volleyball. Born in 1980, he came up in Modena’s youth ranks and made his pro debut there in 1997-98. In 2004-05, he played for Santa Croce (Serie A2) and helped the team make a special double of the Italian Cup A2 and the promotion into the top division. In 2006, he moved to Montichiari, which became Monza, and stayed in the club for seven years. During those years he made his way into the Italian national team and won the XVI Mediterranean Games in Pescara. He joined Vibo in 2012 and won the A2 cup in 2015 as well as 2016. “I have so many great memories in Monza – said Forni – We have everything needed in this club to do well”.
