The first encounter after the Italian Cup break will be on Saturday night against Mondovì, a team that had surprised Cantù in the first meeting 3-1. Currently seventh, Cantù will try to maintain the gap with Ortona, first team of the playoffs, and the six-point gap with the opponent of the day, who stand in 11th place. In its last round, Cantù obtained a superb come-back victory at the tie-break away from home against Tuscania.
Coach Massimo Della Rosa presents the match: “Mondovì is a very well-organised team on the break and that’s why they are very dangerous. They work well at the net and in dig, so we’ll need to set ourselves at their level to be able to win. This is an important game for us, that would allow us to extend our lead against a direct opponent for the playoffs and given that there aren’t many games left to play, it’s important to win those games”.
