Perugia comfortably defeated Latina 3-0 in a postponed game of the last round. Convincing performance from the Block Devils who made it five win in a row between league and Champions League, the fourth straight since Bernardi took over. The players have been sharp on the serve and very active at the net from the get-go. In the third set, Zaytsev got the crowd going crazy with three aces in a row, he was named MVP, while Atanasijevic finished top scorer with 13 points. Birarelli had an excellent contribution with 5 blocks.

We had some good spells, but we could have done better in certain areas like the block-dig department. We should have less hands-out and we should handle better the serve as a team. We have a lot of things to work on and improve on ».
Daniele Sottile (Top Volley Latina): “It’s tough to play against such strong teams, especially when you’re without your best spiker. We had our moments but Perugia was effective from the serve and we struggled to smash the ball down. We knew it was going to be hard, our next two games will be important for the rest of the season ».
