Piacenza is the first one to make Trento fall. Lorenzetti’s men had a perfect nine consecutive wins coming into this encounter. In spite of this four-set defeat, Trento remains top of the table but that was an opportunity missed to create a gap on Civitanova and its main rivals.
Piacenza had not beaten Trento at home since February 2014 and it had not started well for the hosts as Trento took the first set with 62% in attack and 65% in reception. But Piacenza made less mistakes from the second set and Hierrezuelo proved a tough one to handle for the visitors. He was named MVP of the game.

Massimo Colaci (Diatec Trentino): “They did a better job than us today. Sometimes, games can change with a good run of serves and Piacenza did well in that area. They deserve more points that the ones they had so far. They play top quality volleyball, and today again they had some injured players. I am sure they’ll fight for the top positions till the end ».
