Roller coaster ride in Perugia for the fourth round game against Ravenna on Thursday night. In a packed arena, Kovac’s men sprinted off the starting blocks to take a 2-0 lead thanks to Zaytsev’s attack and the MVP Podrascanin. But then Ravenna was everywhere in dig, while Torres and Lyneel were doing the job in attack. The crowd eventually enjoyed a thrilling fifth set in which Ravenna had three match points (one on the counter) but in the end it was Russell who sealed it at 18-16 for the hosts.

We had some ups and downs but in the end we did a good job. We never gave up and we obtained a big win. And it was important to finally win a tie-break ».
