Presentation of the 72nd Serie A UnipolSai season in Rome
The presentation of the 72nd Serie A UnipolSai season took place this afternoon in Rome. Beautiful videos accompanied with music led us through the years of the greatest volleyball league in the world.
A few new fixtures will come in for the new season : the end of the technical time-out, a new software for the Video Check System (both in SuperLega and Serie A2), the Web Tv Sportube, in pay version this season as all the games will be live on the Lega Volley Channel, and the introduction of a second speaker in the Del Monte SuperCup (Lorenzo Dallari to make his debut).
The evening began with a minute silence in the memory of former Italian President Carlo Azeglio Ciampi.
Special guest was the whole Italian national team, who took Silver in the Olympic Games in Rio, led by coach Gianlorenzo Blengini.
The president of the Italian Volleyball League, Paola De Micheli had a few words : « From a passionate fan, I became president of this extraordinary world and I want to give back what volleyball gave to my life. I have started to go round the country, I’ll visit all the Serie A clubs in just a few week. I want to thank Gianlorenzo Blengini, the players, the Federation but also the team presidents and the club sponsors. This is thanks to all of them that our sport has become what it is ».
