In hardly 48 hours, Trentino combined a splendid win over Belgorod in the Champions league and a playoffs victory over Molfetta in the league playoffs quarter-finals. Thanks to this home affirmation, the Italian champions go 2-1 up in the series with Game 4 to be played in Molfetta on Sunday 27. The hosts showed great fighting spirit again and were effective in every fundamentals: 61% and no unforced errors in attack, the reception was on another level compared to game 2 and they had a superb Kaziyski as offensive leader (65%, 3 aces, 1 block). He was named MVP of the game.

Matey Kaziyski (Diatec Trentino): “It was important to get a good result today on the back of our Champions League win over Belgorod. We did just that and we’re thrilled because the game was not easy. Our serve has been particularly effective today and we too full advantage. But now comes the most difficult part of our mission: win in Molfetta next Sunday to try to seal the series”.

Michele Fedrizzi (Exprivia Molfetta): “Our main regrets lies in that second set lost by the minimum margin. If we had won that set, the game would probably have been much different. But Molfetta still has a lot to say in this series and we’ll try to prove it in Game 4 in our PalaPoli arena”.
