At the end of a long battle in a great atmosphere in front of nearly 3000 fans, it is Modena who eventually prevailed. Without Petric and Piano, and with Nikic out halfway through the game, Modena relied on its two stars Bruno and Ngapeth. The French proved crucial in the fourth set with six consecutive points during his run of serves, some with aces, some with pipes. As for the Brazilian setter, he was deservedly named MVP as he distributed very well, even to the young Sartoretti.

They proved they could beat anyone when they have everybody fit. And indeed, Starovic and Zingel, who had faced some physical problems of late, have been key players. And Kovacevic stood out with 20 points and some big ones in the clutch time. Verona has become a very dangerous team on the road: they won 8 of 10 away from home.
