In the opening game of Round 17 on Tuesday night, Milan made it two wins in a row at the expense of Latina (3-1) after the derby taken on that same score against Monza. Giorgio De Togni was named MVP as he led the team to its third victory of the season. Riccardo Sbertoli was the x factor, he distributed to perfection as five spikers finished in double figures. Latina only had Simon Hirsch in double figures.
Giorgio De Togni (Revivre Milano): “We proved we are a team on the up, everybody played well. Special congratulations to Riccardo Sbertoli who played brilliantly today. This is the way to go, we face our last five games in the regular season and we will try our best to get more good results”.
Camillo Placì (coach Ninfa Latina): “We had a poor game. To be honest I did not expect such a low level of play tonight. It’s also true we had at least three players who were not hundred per cent physically. But credit to Milan who believed in its chances and fought for every point, they deserved this victory. We’ll try to put this behind us and get back in shape before the coming game against CMC Romagna.
