Two signings in 24 hours for Castellana Grotte. After the addition of Andrea Bulfon, the club announced the arrival of another promising talent, Simone Scopelliti. Born in Reggio Calabria on April 6, 1994, 205cm tall (6’8), he moved to Modena’s youth ranks in 2011-12 where he trained with the first team and made his debut in the Challenge Cup before travelling back south to Vibo the following year. With Vibo’s youth teams, he took part in the B2 league and made the bench in the A1 a few times.
“I accepted the offer as soon as I received it – said Scopelliti – I know I will have to work hard but I am determined to give it my absolute best. I have maximum respect for coach Fanizza, I am sure we will have a great relationship and that I will be able to grow as a player in a club that has always made young players a priority”.
