The Italian champions have signed Brazilian setter with Spanish passport Ricardinho to substitute the injured Michele Baranowicz. Ricardinho played this season with Maringa, which was just knocked out of the playoffs quarter-finals by Sesi from Sao Paolo. Nat Monopoli had done a great job in the victory over Perugia and now coach Giuliani will have another top quality alternative to finish the season. Ricardinho already played in Italy from 2004 to 2010, four years in Modena and two in Treviso. He is a big name of international volleyball, and among his many achievements, there is the gold medal with Brazil at the Olympic Games 2004, two World championships in 2002 and 2006, a World Cup in 2003 and 5 World League in 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2007.

“When I got the called, I could hardly breath for the emotion – said Ricardinho – This is an incredible challenge for me to come back to Italy. I am extremely excited, I will bring to the club my motivation, experience, fighting spirit and will to play at my best on every rally”.
