Yesterday night in Vienna, Goran Vujevic received a special award – “Volleyball Lifetime Achievement Award” – for a career filled with great successes that lasted 20 years. Goran was the heart and soul of the Block Devils in the past four years. Vujevic was in good company during this award ceremony as there was also the Polish Wlazly, Croatian Poljak, and the marvellous Italian setter Eleonora Lo Bianco. Among Vujevic’s many trophies, the gold medal with Serbia at the Olympic Games 2000 in Sydney and the European Championships 2001 stand out. He gathered many more medals in the World Leagues and World Championships. At 42 years of age, he went very close to lead Perugia to the Champions League final four in its first ever participation last season. He decided to hang up his boots last summer and has now begun a new career of sport director. In Perugia!
