Trentino has already got four confirmations for the coming season with contract renewals for coach Stoytchev, Colaci, Solé and Djuric. And now comes in the first new face with middble blocker Van De Voorde. The Belgium star had a superb first season in the Italian league with Latina, finishing on top of the blocking charts with no less than 93 stops. The 26-year old has already got a lot of experience. He played European Cup volleyball from 2009 to 2014, first with Noliko Maaseik, where he won everything there was to win, and then with Jastrzebski Wegiel in Poland, reaching the semi-finals of the Champions League. Simon also made his mark in attack in his first Italian experience with 57% and 17 aces.

“I did not hesitate one second when I received the two-year offer with Trento – said Simon Van de Voorde – This is a glorious club, extremely famous, even in Belgium thanks to all the success they had in Europe. This is a brand new experience for me, and all very exciting. I’ll be on a young roster, of the Italian champions, and I’ll take part in the Champions League. I wish I could play in another Final Four like I did two years ago”.
