In comes a new signing: the club announced the addition of Yosleyder Cala Gerardo. The Cuban spiker will wear number 17.
“Everybody knew that we were looking to strengthen our squad – said GM Lami – We had explained in the volley market that we chose to have a limited roster in which we could add at a later time a player that could bring new life into the group and help the team be more competitive for the final rush”.
Gerardo was last seen in Montenegro. He played in the Champions League with Budvanska Rivijera. His team finished third of its group and failed to qualify for the next phase, which is why he found himself free on the market. Born in Ciengo de Avila in 1984, Cala has already played in Italy in 2010-11 with the Verona team coached by Bruno Bagnoli. He scored 363 total points, among which 25 aces and 26 blocks in 108 sets played.
