Season to begin August 31

The holidays are coming to an end. On Monday 31 August at 9.30am, the players will be meet up to receive their gear ahead of the start of the pre-season. Training will begin on Tuesday 1 September, though seven players on International duty will be missing. Given that coach Blengini is out with the Italian national team, it is the assistant Giancarlo D’Amico and athletic trainer Massimo Merazzi who will take care of business. The players present from the get-go will be: the outside hitters Alessandro Fei and Ivan Miljkovic, setter Antonio Corvetta, middle blocker Enrico Cester, and spikers Simone Parodi, Jiri Kovar and Pasquale Gabriele. Outside hitter Giulio Sabbi will join the team in the next few days. As for the players missing: they are Juantorena (Italy), Christenson (Usa), Cebulj (Slovenia), Podrascanin and Stankovic (Serbia), Grebennikov (France), and Vitelli (Italy U21).
