Padova’s first move in the off-season is to renew the contract of Santiago Orduna. He will join three other players who are still under contract: libero Fabio Balaso, spiker Sebastiano Milan and middle blocker Marco Volpato. Born in 1983, the Argentine from Buenos Aires will therefore play for a third season at the club.
“I am thrilled to stay here in Padova – he said – I have improved my game here, and I work hard every day to keep learning new things in training. I was glad to see I could compete at the SuperLega level. I’d say we were worth a nice 6,5 out of 10 last season. We were newly promoted and the youngest team, we managed to avoid the last two positions and that’s what we wanted. Looking back, we might have lost a couple of points too many on the way, we might have been able to get into the top 8. But I liked the attitude of the team, we never backed down, we’ve always been aggressive. I hope we will learn from this experience and have an even better season in 2015-16”.
