The marathon played in Civitanova underlined some of Latina’s characteristics this new season. One stat above the rest: 21 blocks is the new record for the club. The previous one was in October 2012 with 19 in San Giustino (Gitto and Verhees 4; Jarosz 3; Rauwerdink, Sottile and Fragkos 2; Patriarca and Troy 1). Yesterday, the blockers were Yosifov with 7, then 4 Rossi, 3 Tailli and Hirsch, Sket, Pavlov, Boninfante and Maruotti. The league record belongs to Cuneo with 26 and it was in Latina on March 17, 2010. The individual record was registered by Francesco Fortunato with 12 with Vibo Valentia, and it was once again against Latina on January 3, 2010. Coming back to this new season, these 21 blocks have propelled Latina on top of the blocking chart with 3.25 per set (52 points). Molfetta (2.92) and Trento (2.83) follow.
