Milan reached an agreement with Dante Boninfante. Born in March 1977, the setter who began the season with Latina will now wear the Milan colours. He came up in Treviso, where he made his pro debut in the Serie A in 1996. He then played for Ferrara, Montichiari, Verona, Piacenza, Roma before going abroad. He went to Poland to play for Belchatow before coming back home and sign for Verona, Modena and last with Latina. He won the league title twice (2001-2009), the Italian cup twice too (2000, 2015), the Champions Legaue in 2000 and the CEV Cup in 2011.
“The deal was sealed very quickly – said Boninfante – I am extremely excited to go to Milan- I know the coach very well, I have maximum respect for Luca, I am thrilled to work with him. I also know captain De Togni, with whom I played in Treviso. This group definitely has potential, and it proved it against my former team Latina”.
