Henk Jan Held is back in town as coach Monti’s assistant. Many Milan fans will remember the Dutch star as middle blocker and captain of the team that made it to the league final against Treviso in its first year in the Serie A1. Besides the 3 years in Milan (2000-2003), he played with many other Italian teams like Reggio Emilia, Bologna, Modena, Palermo, Macrata, Parma, Perugia, Santa Croce and Crema. At International level, he won the Olympic Games 1996 against Italy before winning the World League and European Championships the following year. He started his coaching career in 2008. He was the assistant of the Dutch national team for three years before joining San Giustino and then the B1 side of Modena last season.

“I am thrilled to be back in Milan – he said – We have an excellent team. I already know Luca (Monti), he was my coach at Crema. I also know Gavazzi, Benenti and Diego (Cerioli), the new athletic trainer who was with me at Crema. It will be nice to face this new challenge with those old friends”.
