Reggio Emilia was defeated by the winner of the regular season, Ortona, in the playoffs quarter-finals game 1. In spite of the 3-1 score, Reggio proved it could make it hard for one of the hot favorite to go up in the SuperLega.
“We can and must believe in our chances – said Giglioli – We got stuck in the first set at 20-15 when we were playing to perfection. We complicated things ourselves. However, it’s true that when we won the third set they stepped up a gear, with Rivera taking over in the fourth set that Ortona dominated. Still, it’s true that it’s first against 8th but the gap between the two teams is not that big and we have to be aware of it”.
