The kind of game you don’t expect. But the unthinkable happened at Molfetta as the hosts stunned the Italian champions on a 3-0 score. Molfetta was perfect. Trentino was not there. The hosts registered no less than 9 aces and had an excellent percentages in attack with 51%, while Trentino was too inaccurate. Mvp Fernando Hernandez (Exprivia Molfetta)
Joao Rafael De Barros (Exprivia Molfetta): “We’ve been playing well and the more we’ll train together the better we’ll get. We proved it today. We have been perfect in every fundamental and this is why we have beaten a super power like Trento. They call me Joao Meravigliao but what’s marvellous here are our supporters, they’ve been incredible. I am so excited, this is a big breakthrough”.
Massimo Colaci (Diatec Trentino): “A bitter return home from the Apulia, but Molfetta deserved the win, you can’t argue with that. We wanted to stay on the winning track after the superb triumph over Modena but we couldn’t do it. We’ll just have to focus on the next game against Latina from tomorrow”.

Kamil Baranek (Revivre Milano): “Against such a strong team, we struggled in every area of the game. We did ok at the start of the game, we were keeping up but then they stepped up a gear and always managed to stay comfortably in front”.
Osmany Juantorena (Cucine Lube Banca Marche Civitanova): “We wanted to maintain a high level of focus because we knew Milan was going through a tough time and wanted to get back on track. We did a good job of making them understand how much we wanted the win. And we got what we came here for”.

Angelo Lorenzetti (coach DHL Modena): “We have won a tough game. The boys reacted well after a rather poor first set, though Piacenza deserves some credit. Big game ahead now, we’ll travel to Civitanova to face a team packed with extremely strong players”.
Alberto Giuliani (coach LPR Piacenza): “We lost against a great team, but I am satisfied with my boys. In this first part of season, we’ve been playing some good volleyball. We know we can build on the good things done so far”.
CMC ROMAGNA – NINFA LATINA 3-2 (19-25, 25-20, 15-25, 25-21, 18-16)
CMC ROMAGNA: Mengozzi 11, Ricci, Cavanna 2, Zappoli 3, Della Lunga 9, Van Garderen 4, Polo 9, Koumentakis 7, Goi (L), Torres 28, Boswinkel 2, Bari (L), Perini De Aviz 2. Coach. Kantor.

In this seventh round, CMC Romagna was back in the PalaDe Andrè arena in Ravenna a year and a half after its last official encounter there. This turned into a battle that lasted over two hours and a half but in the end the hosts prevailed at the tie-break led by its outside hitter Torres. Simon Hirsch has been terrific for Latina until the halfway point of the game, then a lack of composure in the clutch time and a few mistakes allowed Romagna to stay in it and eventually win it. MVP: Maurice Torres (CMC Romagna)
Maximiliano Cavanna (CMC Romagna): “We never gave up and did a good job of pulling together when we went through difficult times. We have not been perfect but we fought with our hearts. I want to congratulate Torres, who has been extraordinary, and all the guys who came off the bench. Everybody contributed for this victory. We found it very hard but the most important thing is the result. I’m a very happy man tonight”.
Dante Boninfante (Ninfa Latina): “We really gave too many free points to Romagna starting from the second set. Same in the fourth in which we let them overcome us at the end. I think we have been too nervous, we lacked composure in the key moments of the game to seal it”.
