Beaten for the first time last Sunday in Perugia, Trento immediately bounced back with a thrashing of Piacenza. The Italian champions left absolutely no chance to their opponent in the umpteenth remake of the league finals 2008, 2009 and 2013. Piacenza has always found it hard in Trento, their last win goes back to that final 2009 in game 5 on May 17. Trento was just sharper on the serve, at the net and in attack. MVP Filippo Lanza (Diatec Trentino)

Filippo Lanza (Diatec Trentino): “We wanted to make up for the defeat in Perugia and we did just that with flashes of brilliant volleyball. There is no time to rest but playing home did help a lot. Piacenza made life easy for us tonight, they did not play at their best, but we did a good job of imposing our game. I’m glad with my contribution. There are always many candidates for the MVP awards, but the important thing tonight is that the team showed its will to win”.
Alberto Giuliani (Coach LPR Piacenza): “There’s still a lot of work to be done. The most important is to build a common basis which can allow the experienced and young players to blend. Trento played excellent volleyball, we found it hard from the very beginning, but we should not put our heads down because we have the potential to improve and become a good team”.
