Playoffs Serie A2 UnipolSai

Potenza’s first chance

In a sold out PalaPrincipi arena, Potenza Picena managed to make it two brilliant performances in a row to go 2-1 ahead in the final. The latest 3-0 victory means they will have a chance to celebrate promotion on Tuesday night if they win game 4 in Corigliano. If it goes differently, it will all be down to a fifth deciding encounter back in Potenza on Saturday.

Moretti was the main man again in game 3, he finished top scorer with 19 points. Middle blockers Polo and Dimantini (5 and 3 blocks) were excellent too, finishing with a terrific 67% in attack. Corigliano had 12 points each from Banderò and Hrazdira, as well as 11 blocks as a team but that proved not enough to beat Potenza who was better on the serve (5 aces to 1).

Initially 1-0 up in the series, Tony Bove’s men are behind for the first time. They had previously got rid of Cantù 2-0 and then Ortona 3-0. Now they face a new challenge to stay alive in the final.
