EXPRIVIA NELDIRITTO MOLFETTA – CMC RAVENNA 3-2 (25-18, 25-22, 22-25, 21-25, 15-12) EXPRIVIA NELDIRITTO MOLFETTA: Candellaro 8, Noda Blanco 8, Sket 20, Del Vecchio, Romiti (L), Bossi 7, Blagojevic, Hierrezuelo 8, Porcelli (L), Despaigne Jurquin, Torres 23, Piscopo. DNP Spirito. Coach. Di Pinto.

CMC RAVENNA: Mengozzi 14, Cavanna 3, Zappoli 7, Gabriele 2, Jeliazkov 3, Koumentakis, Goi (L), Zanatta Buiatti 19, Cester 14, Bari (L), Mc Kibbin, Cebulj 12. DNP Ricci. Coach. Kantor.

A game that sent both clubs into the playoffs. The hosts won it 3-2 at the end of a battle that lasted over two hours. And those two points means Molfetta will be in the playoffs for the first time in its history. Ravenna is happy too, they are in the playoffs as seventh, while Molfetta will finish 8th.

MVP: Alen Sket (Exprivia Neldiritto Molfetta)

Sergio Noda Blanco (Exprivia Neldiritto Molfetta): “Congratulations to everyone in the team, not only for today but for the whole season. We got off to a strong start but then Ravenna’s quality showed and they got back in the game. You can never give up until the last point is down, and that’s what we did by winning the tie-break. We have to enjoy the playoffs, do the best we can, think one game at a time, though we know for well we’ll be up against very strong teams”.

Andrea Bari (CMC Ravenna): “Playing here is extremely difficult. It took us two sets before settling down and playing our game. It’s been a roller coaster and then details have decided the fifth set. It was important to secure that playoffs spot against this excellent team. As far as we’ve seen all season, I think both Molfetta and Ravenna fully deserved to be in the playoffs”.

ALTOTEVERE CITTÀ DI CASTELLO-SANSEPOLCRO – REVIVRE MILANO 1-3 (20-25, 24-26, 25-23, 20-25) – ALTOTEVERE CITTÀ DI CASTELLO-SANSEPOLCRO: Franceschini, Teppan 8, Lensi (L), Corvetta, Dolfo 1, Kaszap 4, Tosi (L), Della Lunga 14, Aganits 10, Maric 5, Randazzo 13, Mazzone 6. DNP Baroti. Coach. Polidori.

REVIVRE MILANO: Bencz 18, Temponi Araujo, Patriarca 5, Rizzo (L), Mattera 4, De Togni 10, Dos Santos 14, Veres 18, Valsecchi. DNP Bermudez, Kauliakamoa Jr, Cerbo, Preti. Coach. Maranesi.

Alessandro Franceschini made his 100th appearance with Città di Castello but Milan ruined his party with a 3-1 away win. Castello had both Corvetta and Marica playing despite not being fit. MVP: Peter Veres (Revivre Milano)

Tamas Kaszap (Altotevere Città di Castello-Sansepolcro): “I’m disappointed we did not manage to reproduce the volleyball we’d played during the week, especially our serve. We might put ourselves under too much pressure even if in certain spells we haven’t played that bad, but we made too many mistakes. I’m glad I helped my team and could play against my friend, Veres, a great player from my country”.

Giordano Mattera (Revivre Milano): “We had been waiting to celebrate a three-point win for a long time, this is the first of the season for us, which proves the work in the gym has been positive. We’ll face the last two games with confidence. We’ll be up against top teams but we’ll go for it, like we’ve done today and in recent weeks”.

COPRA PIACENZA – TONAZZO PADOVA 1-3 (19-25, 18-25, 25-15, 29-31)

COPRA PIACENZA: Alletti, Marra (L), Poey 21, Papi 1, Da Silva Pedreira Junior (L), Massari 3, Zlatanov 14, Ostapenko, Tencati 7, Kohut 15, Rodrigues Tavares 3. DNP Ter Horst, Meoni. Coach. Camperi.

TONAZZO PADOVA: Mattei 8, Orduna 1, Giannotti 23, Balaso (L), Rosso 15, Volpato 10, Garghella, Milan 1, Beccaro, Quiroga 10. DNP Vianello, Gozzo, Aguillard. Coach. Baldovin.

Piacenza’s dream of going to the playoffs vanished tonight in the 18-25 of the second set. And no matter what had happened, the 3-2 score between Molfetta and Ravenna had condemned Camperi’s men. MVP: Mattia Rosso (Tonazzo Padova).

Marco Camperi (coach Copra Piacenza): “We only got in the game in the third set. We could have turn things around and play a tie-break but we did not manage to do that. We were not interested in the result between Molfetta and Ravenna. We were focused exclusively on doing our best on court. I have no complains to make to the players, I’m just disappointed we won’t go to the playoffs. Now we’ll try to finish the regular season as well as we can”.

Mattia Rosso (Tonazzo Padova): “These are three vital points for us. The first two sets were perfect, Piacenza was under par in those sets while we maintained a high level of play. Then in the third, they improved and the game became tighter. We have probably been more clinical and determined”.

VERO VOLLEY MONZA – SIR SAFETY PERUGIA 1-3 (25-21, 16-25, 16-25, 21-25)

VERO VOLLEY MONZA: Gotsev 7, Botin, Tiberti, Galliani 10, Padura Diaz 10, De Pandis (L), Jovovic, Vigil Gonzalez 8, Botto 14, Wang 3, Bonetti 5. DNP Procopio, Elia. Coach. Vacondio.

SIR SAFETY PERUGIA: Buti 8, Fromm 17, De Cecco 1, Giovi (L), Barone 8, Tzioumakas, Beretta 1, Vujevic 8, Atanasijevic 22, Fanuli (L), Sunder 1. DNP Cricco, Maruotti. Coach. Grbic.

In front of over 2100 fans, Monza gave a hard time to Perugia but in the end could neither get points nor a second consecutive win following the one in the derby against Milan. MVP: Aleksander Atanasijevic (Sir Safety Perugia)

Oreste Vacondio (coach Vero Volley Monza): “They served really well, that was the key to the game. I can’t criticize my boys for the reception, credit to Perugia for serving that well. Atanasijevic and Fromm basically hit them all real strong and they managed to escape in the scoreboard thanks to a couple of good runs. We played an excellent first set, we maintained a good rhythm, then Perugia stepped up a gear and prevented us from pushing it to the tie-break”.

Nikola Grbic (coach Sir Safety Perugia): “I had told my boys before the game that Monza would be a tough side to face. They had never lost 3-0 in the second half of season. All the top teams that came here had to work hard to get the points. I liked the reaction of the boys after the first set, in which we had not managed to play our game because of the quality of the hosts. Then, we got better and obtained a win that will give us a boost for this end of season”.

TOP VOLLEY LATINA – CUCINE LUBE BANCA MARCHE TREIA 1-3 (25-27, 20-25, 25-19, 26-28) – TOP VOLLEY LATINA: Manià (L), Rauwerdink 9, Sottile 1, Skrimov 5, Pellegrino, Tailli, Van De Voorde 1, Davis 4, Rossi 9, Starovic 20, Urnaut 19. DNP Ferenciac. Coach. Blengini.

CUCINE LUBE BANCA MARCHE TREIA: Fei 2, Henno (L), Parodi 7, Paparoni (L), Stankovic 10, Kovar 17, Sabbi 18, Monopoli 1, Garcia, Podrascanin 16. DNP Bonacic, Shumov, Kurek, Baranowicz. Coach. Giuliani.

In a packed PalaBianchini arena, Treia won it in four sets. It turned out to be an extremely tight encounter with great competitive spirit from both sides, but maybe a few too many mistakes too. While Treia stays close to the top teams, Latina had another proof it could compete with the very bests.

MVP: Tine Urnaut (Top Volley Latina)

Tine Urnaut (Top Volley Latina): “We believed in our chance until the end, we never gave up even when we were trailing in the scoreboard. We lacked that bit of luck to push Treia to a fifth set. Now we have to worked hard in the next two weeks to prepare for the playoffs”.

Stefano Recine (D.S. Cucine Lube Banca Marche Treia): “Just when the fixture list and injuries all seemed to go against us, we got right back on track”.
