Beaten in the Cup final last weekend, Trento was back to business as usual. In the CEV Cup quarter-final first leg, they had no problems in sweeping the Romanians of Craiova in their own gym. The first set was tight but sorted thanks to the scoring of Lanza and the blocks of Burgsthaler. Then, things got much easier. In the second set, Nelli came on for Nemec and scored 12 points (2 aces, 2 blocks and 57% in attack). Nice appearance from Giannelli too, who scored two big points to seal the second set and was accurate in his distribution in the third set.
Radostin Stoytchev (allenatore Energy T.I. Diatec Trentino): “This was our fourth game in a week but this was objectively the easiest of all. The previous three games had been played at a totally different level. It was rather easy tonight, we found it a little harder in the first which was more due to the fact we were not focused enough rather than the quality of our opponent. We just wanted to win this one and avoid injuries, so mission accomplished”.
