Trentino registered a solid victory in the opening game of its new Champions League campaign at the expense of Maaseik (3-0). In spite of the players missing, the Italians could not have hoped for a better start as it showed the kind of character and determination already seen in the SuperLega. There was some good work at the net (9 blocks), in attack (only three mistakes and 55%), while the reception and dig worked just fine too with a spectacular Colaci.

“I am very happy with the result but also with the level of play – said coach Stoytchev – We still have a lot of work on but I think we have already shown our identity. It was an excellent team performance but some individual also managed to show some of their talent, like Djuric and Van De Voorde”.
