In the Champions League playoffs 12, Perugia was drawn against the Polish side of Jastrzebski Wegiel, led by Italian coach Roberto Piazza. Their main star in attack is another Italian: outside hitter Lasko.
“All the teams that qualify to this stage deserve it. So whatever opponent we’d have picked would have been tough – said coach Nikola Grbic – The Russians were definitely worse but Jastrzebski is a strong team, which has more experience than us of this level of competition. We’ll really need to give everything we have against them”.
