While Perugia’s pre-season continues with intensity, half the team is still missing. Indeed, six players are divided around the world as they play for their national teams in the World Cup or in the preparation for the coming European Championships. Starting with the action in Japan, captain Buti (Italy), De Cecco (Argentina) and Russell (USA) are all still in the run to grab one of the first two spots to qualify for Rio 2016. Italy and Argentina are currently tied for second place behind the USA of Russell, who are still perfect following their straight set victory over Venezuela. As for the Germans Fromm and Kaliberda, and the Serbian Atanasijevic, they are working hard to prepare for the European Championships. Both Germany and Serbia will take part in a tournament with the World League winners of France and Slovenia in Ludwigsburg, Germany, from the 25 to 27 September.
