Verona got off to a good start in its first friendly match of the season. De Cecco’s men had the better of Brescia 3-1, showing a positive attitude much appreciated by the numerous fans who came to watch the game. Gasparini took over at the end of a tight second set with two blocks to get Verona back on track after losing the opening set. Brescia was ahead again in the third (18-20) when Zanini (ace) and Gitto (block) put a smile back on Verona’s face. Bellei and co build a 15-11 lead in the fourth, which they would hang on to till the end.
