One of the crowd favourite has signed a new contract with Perugia, Rocco Barone. “Perugia is the team I wanted – he said – We want to be protagonists”. Barone proved last year he was a top quality athlete and an exemplary professional. He had a great season thanks to his technical and physical attributes as well as his heart. And that made him an idol for many fans.
“The club and coach really wanted me to stay, which made me really happy, and that probably means I did fine last year. I really feel good in this club, I have a great relationship with the president, the fans… all this contributed to this decision. But last year is now part of the past, it’s undeniable it represents something important and still alive in our minds but we have an intense season ahead with the league and Champions League. This will be my first time and that will surely be an extraordinary experience that will make me get better”.
