Twenty years on, Leondino Giombini is back in a playoffs semi-final. The last time was in 1994-95 with Treviso, when he was eventually defeated in the final by Modena.
“I Remember next to nothing about that semi-final of 95 – admitted Giombini, who turned 39 on January 30 – On the other hand, I remember we got defeated in just three games in the final. The playoffs is something important for a volleyball player. In my career, I was fortunate enough to take part in them many times, both in the A2 and A1, but the ones we have just begun are very special. Very often, the playoffs have represented a great achievement, while this season this is only the starting point because we want to win it all”.
