Third win of the season and third at the tie-break for Milan, the first at home. They had the better of Città di Castello in a marathon that lasted 2 hours and 20 minutes. The game was characterized by some run of serves. Peter Veres was named MVP as he registered 6 blocks for a total of 24 points. And it was the Hungarian who scored three consecutive clutch points in the tie-break that led to victory.
Marco Maranesi (Coach Revivre Milano): “That’s the only way we seem to be able to win… One thing is for sure, we play with heart. How frustrating to lose that first set like that when we had played well all the way. But in the second we fought back with a great performance. We depend a lot on our serve. When it works, everything goes well, when we struggle, we get punished. But it seems obvious to me that we have been making good progress”.
Luigi Randazzo (Altotevere Città di Castello-Sansepolcro): “It’s a shame, we’ll be disappointed to have lost two points. This was an important game, both teams played well, we have been ahead for a long time, but we let them back in. We’re disappointed because if we’d won that second set, the game could have gone differently”.
