European cups 2014-2015

2015 CEV DenizBank Champions League

Last European outing of this 2014 for the Italians, who are fighting for a place in the Playoffs 12. Treia, Piacenza and Perugia will all gear up this Wednesday. The first one to go will be Treia on the cold court of the European Champions of Belgorod. The latter won in Italy two weeks ago, they are still perfect and top of the group. Without the injured Alessandro Fei, , Treia will need a great performance to get a result against the Russians, who have yet to be beaten this year at home, and were unbeaten in their gym in Europe last season. Treia is currently tied in second place with Fenerbahce.

At 7pm, it will be Piacenza’s turn to get it going in Switzerland against the Dragons Lugano. The encounter between the two sides two weeks ago marked a turnaround in Piacenza’s season. But the Italians, who’s coming off back-to-back wins in the league, will need to win it again to stay in the hunt for qualification as they’re currently third, tied on points with Roeselare.

Finally, Perugia will play host to the Belgium side of Maaseik. Grbic’s men were defeated by Treia this weekend after nine consecutive wins, they will try to get back to winning ways to secure qualification. They beat Maaseik 3-0 two weeks ago to keep a hundred percent record, which means another three points would guarantee them one of the first two places of the group. The fight for the first place is with HalkBank Ankara, Perugia’s last opponent in this group phase.
