Third consecutive defeat for Radici’s men but they showed some encouraging signs by pushing the strong team of Perugia to the limit after an hesitant start. Perugia did better in attack (43 vs 36%) and at the net (8 blocks to 5), while Piacenza collected more aces (7 to 4) and had a better reception (47 to 43%, Mario Jr finished at 70%). Zlatanov was the only one in double figure for Piacenza with 16 points.
Aimone Alletti (Copra Piacenza): “Despite the 3-0 score, the game was a rather hard-fought one. In the second set, we threw away our lead, we could have won it. The positive aspect of this encounter is that the group is motivated and they play with good spirit. We have to get reorganized but we have a good basis to do so. The most important thing will be to maintain our composure”.
Nikola Grbic (coach Sir Safety Perugia): “Even when we are ahead we don’t take the initiative, so logically our opponent take advantage to come back. At times we get nervous and at times we lose sets because of this. When you play every three days, it’s difficult to maintain a high rhythm in training”.
