Seven months after the victory in the Del Monte Super Cup for the first team, Trentino collected another trophy with the Del Monte Junior League.
The 23rd edition organized by the Italian Volleyball League in Loreto and Potenza Picena ended with a remake of last season’s final, but this time Trento took revenge on Macerata, who had won it 3-2 in 2013. This time, Conci’s men did not leave any chance to anyone, they collected six wins in as many games to lift the cup aloft like they did in 2011, when there were the likes of Lanza, Fedrizzi and Thei in the squad. While Cavuto finished top scorer, the MVP award went to setter Giannelli. De Angelis had a great impact too in dig as Trentino had to recover from a 1-0 deficit.
“This is another victory of a group that managed to go through the pain – said coach Conci – They sacrificed during the season, and they played brilliantly in the Junior League final. In the last few days, we have gotten better and better and we deserved to win. Today again, we fought through the difficulty because Macerata made it real hard for us in the first and third set but we found a way out of the tunnel and came out on top”.
