Monza goes up in the Serie A1

Monza is the second team to go up in the Serie A1 with Padova who won the regular season. Vacondio’s men had a great run in the playoffs in which they only lost one encounter (semi-final game 2 vs Ortona). They confirmed all the quality seen as they finished second of the regular season.
“I was the first one to say it last summer, I believed we could do it, I’ve always believed – said coach Vacondio – Shame we could not go straight up during the regular season. This victory came thanks to everyone at the club, the coaching staff, the managerial staff, and all the people that have always worked with maximum passion here. This is a great satisfaction for everyone”.
Cantù’s coach said he was proud all the same of his team’s achievement: “I am proud to have trained these boys. They have shown exceptional technical and human qualities. We got that far thanks to how united the group was and how well president Ambrogio Molteni handled things. He is the heart and soul of this team. Our greatest victory is that we made a lot of people fall in love with volleyball in a city, which rightly so given the history, lives off basketball”.
