Piacenza takes game 3 at the tie-break

After a first set in which Piacenza outclassed Perugia 25-12, a real battle took place. A battle that would push Piacenza to the tie-break just like in game 2. Perugia really got the hosts nervous but Zlatanov (24 points, MVP) and Simon (6 blocks, 3 aces, 20 points) again showed the way to victory.

Samuele Papi (Copra Elior Piacenza): “We play every three days so it’s understandable to have a dip during the game. Our serving and blocking have been important weapons even if Perugia has been in great shape. It was real hard today but what matters is that we reached our goal to go 1 game up. Now we have to rest before game 4 in Perugia: this will be another tough one but we’ll try everything we can to win it”.

Nemanja Petric (Sir Safety Perugia): “Game 3 was pretty similar to game 2 in Perugia. It’s been very close in those games and the court advantage had something to say. Just like us, they managed to win it home. We started lightly, but then we found our rhythm. We’ll now focus on the next game, we’ve proved we could get a result against Piacenza and we’ll do our best to extend the series”.
