In the first return game of the season, the Verona setter Boninfante celebrated its 400th appearance in the Serie A (regular season + playoffs). In his 17 year career, Boninfante won the league twice, one Champions League, one Super European Cup, one Italian cup, two super cups, and one Cev Cup. Besides, he tallied 21 appearances with the Italian national team.
“I never thought I reach such number, 400 is a lot of games – said Boninfante – And I was once out for six months with a shoulder injury, and I played one year abroad. It could be even more then. This achievement goes to my family and all the teammates I played alongside during the journey”.
