Middle blocker Simone Anzani was selected by the Italian Volleyball Federation to be part of the sixth World League weekend as Italy takes on Brazil on Thursday 3 in Bologna and Sunday 6 in Milan. In the coaching staff, there will also be Andrea Giani, about to live his third and fourth game with the national team after his debut in Iran. Italy is currently second in Group A with 6 wins and 4 losses. Iran is tied with Italy but first thanks to a better point quotient.

As for the other Verona player, Taylor Sander and the USA are top of Group B as an explosive Sander scored 25 in a tie-break win in Russia. He added 13 points in the second game won in straight sets. Australia lost in the two games against Belgium in Adelaide even if middle blocker Zingel was top scorer of the first game with 23 points (5 blocks), while spiker White collected ten points. They respectively had 6 and 10 in the second encounter.
