In a packed PalaPoli arena, Molfetta converted its first opportunity to celebrate promotion in the A1 at the expense of Padova, swept 3-0 in the series. A historical moment for the club that will fixture in the elite of Italian volleyball for the first time ever.
“This is everybody’s victory – said coach Cichello – The victory of the players, especially the ones that trained even though they knew they could not play. I thank the club for the way they help me and my family live here in Molfetta – my kids go to school here – they have made great sacrifices. And I thank Julio Velasco, I would not be who I am without him. In Argentina, they follow me every day, family, friends and journalists, thanks to them as well”.
