Piacenza managed to land libero Lorenzo Smerilli. Born in 1987, he came up in Macerata’s youth ranks and played last season with Corigliano.
“Considering what happened last year and how the end of the season went I consider Piacenza 2013-14 one of the favourites for the title – said Smerilli – The only starter to be changed is Holt, but all the other players are extremely strong, and there has been the addition of Kaliberda and Partenio, who I personally know, they are great players”.
