Despite the 3-0 loss against the league leaders, Macerata, there is satisfaction in the Verona camp. Boninfante and co were pushed by a packed arena of nearly 5.000 fans, a record this season in the Serie A.
“A defeat against Macerata can obviously happen – said coach Giani – We know how strong this team is and the level of play they express. I think we could have done a little better in the first two sets to stay close. One of our strength, the blocking, did not work out too well. We would have needed points from other areas like the attack, but we are not consistent enough yet in that department. But we have players aiming high, it was interesting to see this match-up. This is a great place Verona, I’d love the club to be able to play on all fronts, both in Italy and Europe. This is a city that does so much for sport, here you can feel the passion of the people”.
