2014 DenizBank Champions League

Macerata showed the way by defeating the Kazan team of Nikola Grbic. Zaytsev and Kurek reserved a special welcoming to the Russians as they were inspired by an excellent Baranowicz. Piacenza followed suit on its return in the competition three years on. The Italians had the better of Ljubljana 3-1 as Fei and Papi never seem to get old. Authoritarian win too for Trento against the German of Berlin. Setter Sintini shined, like the ususal suspect Sokolov, and the whole team showed character.

2014 CEV Cup

Cuneo made it a hundred percent record for Italy on this opening round. They came back from France with a 3-1 win over Nantes in the 16th of final first leg. Rouzier was the main man with 21 points.

The Golden set will be played if the two teams finish with the same amount of points. Three points are given for 3-0 and 3-1 victories and 2 points for tie-break wins.
