World Club championships 2013

Trentino through

Trentino bounced back from its defeat against UPCN to defeat the Panasonic Panthers 3-0 and qualify for the World Club Championships semi-finals. They will take on the Russians of Novosibirsk (European Champions) later on today. The other semi-final will be UPCN (Arg) versus Cruzeiro (Bra). In today’s game, Trento build its success on its accuracy (only 6 unforced errors in 3 sets) and blocking (15).

Roberto Serniotti (coach Trentino Diatec): “Novosibirsk is a team that we know rather well even if we have never met them on court. In recent weeks, we have studied them carefully and they seemed even stronger than in the past. The addition of outside hitter Moroz and spiker Camejo in my opinion brought even more quality to a side that was already well-balanced. But I am happy to be able to face such a tough opponent. I just hope we will play without fear. We have little time to prepare ourselves but we will do everything possible to try to win”.
