Del Monte Super Cup 2013
The press conference to present the Del Monte Super Cup 2013 took place this afternoon in Trento. The event is scheduled on October 9 and will put face to face Trentino and Macerata.
“Our story ending with Trentino Volley’s triumph in the league final 2013 will resume with another great game against Macerata – said Trento’s councilor of sport Paolo Castelli – This is a new intriguing challenge for the club and the city of Trento. The Trento Town Hall is extremely proud to be the host of this event”.
“We met so many times with Macerata in recent years and always in important games – said Trento’s middle blocker Emmanuele Birarelli, who just came back from the European Championships where he helped Italy to the final and silver medal – I am delighted to play the Del Monte Super Cup in front of the Trento supporters. This will be a special day like the League final game 5 last year”.
Then Trento and League president Diego Mosna took over “We want to see Birarelli with the same fighting spirit that we’ve seen him with the national team, and we can’t wait to experience certain emotions again with our team”.
“The Del Monte Super Cup will make it a triptych of events organized at the PalaTrento area after the All Star and the Italian Cup in previous years – said CEO Massimo Righi – Our volleyball is alive and kicking and these events help us to revive new interest in our championship, which has definitely lost some of its stars, but replaced by worthy athletes. Entertainment guaranteed, there will always be top quality volleyball in the Serie A1”.
