Perugia came back from Modena with all three points which means they are now tied in the table in fifth position. The newly promoted side confirmed all its quality, it was effective, solid and played with excellent technique. On the other hand, Modena did not play to the full of its potential, they made too many mistakes, among which 23 on the serve. MVP: Goran Vujevic
Angelo Lorenzetti (coach Casa Modena): “We have played too much at a rhythm that is not ours, and we wasted a lot of energy. I had already seen signs of this in training. I was worried about this game because Perugia is an excellent team, and to face these teams you need to be mentally at hundred percent into it. I hope the boys are not looking too much into the league table. We have to get down to work, we must be aware of who we are and play again with our own style”.
Slobodan Kovac (coach Sir Safety Perugia): “I was extremely preoccupied before this road game in Modena. Coming here is always difficult, but I have to say the boys have been fantastic. They played the perfect game tactically. I have seen a good reaction after a difficult week and that’s exactly what I wanted from them. It’s important that they give the best they have in every game”.
