The 4500 fans that filled the arena definitely made the Macerata players forget about the snow and cold that welcomed them in Poland. But their support to the Reszow team was not enough to stop the Italian champions, which made it three road wins in a row with the two league ones gathered in Castellana and Piacenza. Macerata played with heart, character and determination, completing spectacular come-backs in the first two sets mainly thanks to their good work at the net (13 blocks). Then, they dominated the third to seal the deal in an hour and a half. Zaytsev and co will however have to win the return leg too in Italy in order to avoid the golden set and go through.
