“This is a very special club for me” said Luigi Schiavon who will make his come-back as head coach of the team after having already been at Padova several time in the past. Born in 1951, in Padova, he had first been in the club of his home town as Silvano Prandi’s assistant in 1992. He stayed at the club for years until he became the head coach in 1997-98. From 1999, he become coach of the National team Junior and assistant of Anastasi in Italy’s national team senior. He returned to club volleyball with Trieste, Schio and Mantova before making his first come-back in Padova in 2005-06, where he managed to stay up in the A1. He stayed in Padova two seasons.
“I am extremely happy that the club has looked for me – said the new coach – The years are going by but my will to work in volleyball has always remained intact no matter where I have worked. I have to say, however, that Padova is a special place for me, coming back here is really great”.
