Latina added another piece of what will constitute the roster 2012-13. The club signed Spanish spiker Sergio Noda Blanco. The 25-year-old with Cuban origins has already played three years in Italy but this will be his full debut in the top division. He first played for Santa Croce before joining Città di castello. He has been a Spanish international since 2009, he took part in the European Championships 2009 and 2011, and he won three silver medals in a row in the European League. Last season he was named top scorer and top spiker in the European League.
“I was thrilled to see the interest from Latina – said Sergio Noda – We reached an agreement and this will be a big step up in my career. I realize this is a great opportunity. I have always heard a lot on Prandi, he’s one of the great coaches that volleyball has”.
